Open Studios

Tue Oct 20, 2009, 7:47 AM
Open Studios was a blast!
I met tons of new people and some old friends.
The weather was a little gloomy and it snowed!
I cooked up a storm and kept all warm and happy with skull cookies, banana bread, cupcakes and mulled cider.

I have a ton of new ideas for projects for:
"The Long Way Home"
My January solo show at the Gulu Gulu cafe in Salem Mass.

Right now I'm working on a series of labels inspired by antique jars and graphics, mixed with fairytale themes. Eventually I plan on using them in a photo shoot. Keep an eye out I will be uploading images shortly.
I'm also starting the preliminary work for my three pigs wall heads.
I can't wait to order the glass eyes from my taxidermy supplier.

I also have a new limited edition print up on Etsy,
of "Cheese Shop"
Very fine quality, I'm going to save one for myself <3

Murder of Crows

Sat Sep 19, 2009, 10:26 AM
Hello all..
I found this really nice printing company and I'm planning on doing a very limited run print through them. I'm soo excited, but I'm having a little trouble choosing a piece. I want it to be one of my smaller square pieces. I'm thinking, "Cheese Shop" "Cherry Tarts" "Fruit and Grains" "Chinese Dumpling" or something similar. Any sugestions?

I just finished my painting Zeal of Zebras for the Murder of Crows show in Oct. It looks great and it should be an awesome show. Check out the link to the preview below:

In Oct I will also be participating in the Fort Point Open Studios:

One of my favorite subjects!!
The show opens on Saturday, June 27 and will run through July 12.
I have three little paintings done for this show;
"Sword Swallower", "Fox Carnival" and "Wolf Boy"
Here they are:

I may continue this series at a later date and have more up at open studios or the Ahts festival in the fall. I really like painting on these little bits of wood.

A Little down-time

Journal Entry: Fri May 15, 2009, 7:57 AM
Currently I've been doing a few small projects,
I've been entering a few gallery shows here and there,
and working on some new stuff for Mail Me Art.
I will have also some work at the Monkeyhouse Gallery in the summer.

Soon I need to start preparing for fall sales and open studios.

My next extra big event is a solo show at the Gulu Gulu Cafe in Salem, MA.
I'm wicked excited about this show, The Gulu Gulu is a great Cafe.
(so far the date is Feb 2010)
I will be creating a ton of new work for this show, I have a million ideas brewing!

In other news:
My parents are visiting next weekend!
I have not seen them in over a year, since they have been in Japan and it takes so much time and money to fly into Boston.
I'm so excited to introduce my mother to my new cat. She is also bringing me a bunch of Japanese goodies and art inspirations for me.

As always you can find more work and info at:
